My Favourite Vegan Holiday Meal

The perfect easy to make meal for every holiday occasion from the Very Good Butchers

My love of the Very Good Butchers goes back to the first year I went vegan. It was 2019. I had made it months never once missing meat. But then the holidays came. Growing up I always looked forward to my mother's turkey. The smell of it looking is inextricably linked to those family meals. So when the time came I was sad to be the only one left out.

That's when I discovered the Stuffed Beast. And every holiday since then it has become a staple. And it's not just that it's delicious. I mean, it absolutely is. A savoury rolled up seitan stuffed with yams and other veggies. It's so simple to make in the oven with a sauce of broth and herbs you can customize to your liking.

My real bond with the beast comes from the excellent customer service the company gave me. You see, I had put in my order ahead of time. But somewhere between Victoria and my house it got lost. It wasn't the company's fault but I was truly heartbroken to have no backup plan and no Christmas dinner. I reached out to them explaining the situation and they overnighted me a new one. December 23rd it arrived and thus began my annual tradition.

This year I upgraded my meal with homemade cranberry sauce. Who knew it was as simple as adding orange juice and cinnamon to cranberries and letting them burst over medium heat? If you are looking for a holiday meal for yourself or a group I recommend trying one. They're often found at your local vegan grocery. But you can order them for a limited time ahead of most occasions straight from the website. Just make sureto get your order in on time!
